We only have one month left before our baby hits the 1 year mark, and we aren't quite sure where the time has gone. A few weeks ago we let Connor try out one of his Christmas presents, a push toy, and as we watched him walk around the house both Bryant and I started to get teary. Our baby is growing up, and way too fast. This past month Connor mastered the art of clapping, and uses his new skill to get attention and to applaud his favorite contestants on So You Think You Can Dance. He gives kisses without being asked and walks around the house holding on to various objects as well as our pant legs. He has the sweetest disposition and the best smile we've ever seen. He will soon have 6 teeth and he loves chomping food with his teeth and chewing on any hard object he can fit into his mouth. Connor also discovered kiwi which quickly became his favorite fruit, and he loves playing underneath the table while we eat our dinner. I caved and gave Connor his first taste of ice cream, and both Bryant and I cracked up when the look of pure joy filled his face.
We were able to get together with our birth family this past week and were reminded once again of just how blessed we are to know such amazing people. Not only did Megan make it possible for us to be Connor's parents, but she and her family have continued to show our family so much love. Connor had a blast playing with their big dog Tony who followed Connor around and tried to herd him away from any potential danger. He loved opening his presents and thoroughly enjoyed the hugs and kisses that he received. We are truly blessed.
December seems to be the perfect time for this last month of babyhood. Connor is amazed by the snow, the Christmas lights, and will very soon celebrate Christmas for the first time. We are loving every moment with our baby, and looking forward to the moments to come with our growing boy.
